These Cookies Changed How I Diet (No More Restrictions)

I’m not even going to lie — I make these cookies multiple times a week, even when I’m in a calorie deficit. And honestly, I don’t feel bad about it at all.

They’re one of those recipes that just make everything easier. Whenever I crave something sweet, I already know I have something that actually satisfies me, without completely messing up my progress. It doesn’t feel like I’m restricting myself or “on a diet,” which is probably the biggest reason why I stick to it.

For me, it’s all about finding that balance — being able to enjoy something that tastes like a real treat, while still staying on track. And these cookies do exactly that.

Ingredients (6 cookies)

1 tsp cinnamon (optional but highly recommended)

2 ripe bananas (about 200g mashed)

100g rolled oats

40g fresh strawberries (chopped)

15g dark chocolate (chopped, 70–85%)

Step 1: I prepare the base of the cookie dough


I start by preheating the oven to 180°C / 350°F, because I want the cookies to bake evenly and get that soft, slightly golden texture on the outside.

Then I take the bananas and mash them very thoroughly in a bowl until they become completely smooth and creamy.

I really take my time here, because the texture of the banana is what determines how good the cookies will turn out in the end.

The smoother the banana mixture is, the softer and more naturally sweet the cookies will taste later.

Step 2: I mix in the oats to build the structure


Once the banana is nice and creamy, I add the rolled oats and gently stir everything together.

I keep mixing until all the oats are fully coated with the banana mixture, so the dough becomes thick, soft, and slightly sticky.

At this point, I already notice how the mixture starts to look like a proper cookie dough, even though it’s made from very simple, clean ingredients.

If I want to enhance the flavor a little, I also add a bit of cinnamon, which gives the cookies a warm, slightly sweet aroma without adding any extra calories.

Step 3: I add the strawberries and chocolate carefully


Next, I fold in the chopped strawberries and the dark chocolate.

I do this slowly and gently, because I want to keep the strawberry pieces intact so they stay juicy during baking.

The strawberries add freshness and a natural sweetness, while the small amount of chocolate gives the cookies that satisfying dessert feeling.

I make sure everything is evenly distributed, so every cookie later has a good balance of soft oats, fruit, and melted chocolate.

Step 4: I shape the cookies


Now I line a baking tray with parchment paper and use a spoon to divide the dough into about 6 equal portions.

I place them on the tray and gently press each one down slightly.

I don’t make them too thin, because I want the cookies to stay soft and slightly chewy in the center after baking.

At this stage, they already look like simple oatmeal cookies with visible strawberry pieces and chocolate chunks on top.

Step 5: I bake them and let them set properly


I bake the cookies for about 12–14 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden but the center is still soft.

When I take them out of the oven, I don’t touch them immediately.

I let them sit on the tray for a few minutes, because this is when they firm up slightly and develop their final texture.

The result is a soft, naturally sweet cookie that feels like a real treat, but is light enough to fit perfectly into a weight loss routine.
