Lately, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect drink that feels refreshing and satisfying without being loaded with calories. After trying a few different combinations, I came across this one — and it honestly stuck. It’s light, naturally flavorful, and so simple that I find myself making it several times a week without even thinking about it. There’s nothing complicated about it, which is exactly what I love. It’s quick, fresh, and just fits effortlessly into my routine.
Ingredients (for 1 glass):
- 75 g fresh pineapple (cut into small cubes)
- 60 ml fresh orange juice (≈ 1/2 medium orange)
- 40 g cucumber (about 5–6 thin slices)
- 6 fresh mint leaves
- 250 ml cold water (or sparkling water)
- 4–6 ice cubes (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients
Start by taking a small piece of fresh pineapple and cutting it into small, even cubes.
The smaller the pieces are, the easier it is for them to release their natural sweetness into the drink.
Next, slice the cucumber into thin rounds — they don’t have to be perfect, just thin enough so they infuse well.
Gently rinse the mint leaves under cold water and set them aside.
If you’re using a fresh orange, cut it in half and squeeze it until you have about 60 ml of juice.
Try to remove any seeds so the drink stays clean and smooth.

Step 2: Build the base of the drink
Take a large glass and add the pineapple cubes first, followed by the cucumber slices and the fresh mint leaves.
Pour the orange juice directly over the ingredients. At this point, everything already starts to smell fresh and slightly citrusy, which is exactly what you want.
If you like, you can gently press the ingredients with a spoon — not too much, just enough to slightly release the juices and aromas.

Step 3: Add the water and bring it all together
Now slowly pour in about 250 ml of cold water or sparkling water, depending on your preference.
Still water keeps it light and simple, while sparkling water makes it feel a bit more refreshing and lively.
If you enjoy your drinks extra cold, add a few ice cubes at this stage.
You’ll see how the colors start to come together, creating a really fresh and inviting look.

Step 4: Let it sit and develop flavor
This is the step that really makes the difference. Let the drink sit for at least 5–10 minutes so all the ingredients have time to infuse the water.
During this time, the pineapple releases its sweetness, the cucumber adds a clean, refreshing note, and the mint gives it that light, cooling finish.
If you have a bit more time, placing it in the fridge for 30–60 minutes will make the flavor even more intense and balanced.

Step 5: Give it a final stir and enjoy
Before drinking, give everything a gentle stir so the flavors are evenly distributed.
Take a moment to enjoy the fresh scent, then sip it slowly. It’s light, refreshing, and naturally fruity — the kind of drink that feels simple but still a little special.

When is the best time to drink it?
You can really enjoy this drink at any time of the day, but I personally love having it in the morning or early afternoon. In the morning, it feels like such a fresh and gentle way to start the day, especially when you’re not in the mood for something heavy right away. It wakes you up a little with the citrus, but still feels light and easy on the stomach.
I also like to make it in the afternoon, especially on warmer days, when I want something refreshing but don’t feel like reaching for sugary drinks. It’s one of those small habits that just makes you feel a bit better without trying too hard.
For me, it’s less about the “perfect time” and more about the moment. I usually prepare it when I have a few quiet minutes, let it sit for a bit, and then enjoy it slowly. It’s a simple routine, but it always feels a little special.
