Sometimes plain water can feel a little boring, which is why I love making this Berry Citrus Glow Water. It’s refreshing, naturally flavorful, and an easy way to make staying hydrated more enjoyable. With fresh fruit, mint, ginger, and chia seeds, it brings a burst of flavor to your day while fitting perfectly into a healthy lifestyle. 🍓🍊🌿💧
Ingredients (Makes about 2 liters)
- 8 cups (2 liters) cold filtered water
- 1 organic orange, thinly sliced
- 1 organic lemon, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
- 10–12 fresh mint leaves
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 small pinch of sea salt
- Ice cubes (optional)

Step 1: Prepare Your Fresh Ingredients
Start by thoroughly washing all of your fruits, herbs, and vegetables. Since the citrus slices will remain in the water for several hours, using organic fruit is ideal whenever possible.
Thinly slice the orange, lemon, cucumber, and ginger. The thinner the slices, the easier it is for their natural flavors to infuse into the water. Lightly crush the mint leaves between your fingers before adding them. This simple trick releases their natural oils and creates a much fresher aroma.
At this stage, don’t worry about making everything look perfect. The goal is simply to expose more surface area so the ingredients can naturally flavor the water.

Step 2: Build the Flavor Base
Take a large pitcher or glass jar and add the sliced orange, lemon, cucumber, ginger, raspberries, and mint leaves.
As you add each ingredient, think of the role it plays:
- Orange adds natural sweetness and brightness.
- Lemon provides freshness and a clean citrus finish.
- Cucumber creates a cool, crisp flavor.
- Ginger adds a gentle warming note and depth.
- Mint brings a refreshing spa-like taste.
- Raspberries contribute natural berry flavor and beautiful color.
Together, these ingredients create a balanced drink where no single flavor overwhelms the others.

Step 3: Add Water, Chia Seeds, and a Touch of Mineral Support
Pour the cold filtered water into the pitcher.
Add the chia seeds and a very small pinch of sea salt. The chia seeds will slowly absorb water and develop a soft gel-like texture, creating a drink that feels more satisfying and hydrating. The small amount of sea salt helps provide natural minerals and enhances the overall flavor without making the drink taste salty.
Stir everything thoroughly for about 30 seconds to prevent the chia seeds from clumping together.

Step 4: Let the Flavors Infuse
Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 2–4 hours.
For the absolute best flavor, let it sit overnight.
This waiting period is where the magic happens. The citrus releases its essential oils, the berries gently soften, the ginger infuses its subtle spice, and the mint develops a cooling freshness throughout the water.
The longer the infusion, the more complex and refreshing the final drink becomes.
Give the pitcher another quick stir before serving, especially because the chia seeds naturally settle over time.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
Fill a large glass with ice cubes if desired and pour the infused water over the top.
Make sure some fruit slices, mint leaves, and raspberries end up in each glass. Not only does this make the drink look beautiful, but it also continues releasing flavor while you drink.
Enjoy it throughout the day whenever you need a refreshing pick-me-up. It’s especially wonderful in the morning, after exercise, during warm weather, or anytime you’re looking for a healthier alternative to sugary beverages.
For maximum freshness, consume within 24–48 hours and keep refrigerated between servings.

Important Tips
Keep It Cold
Always return the pitcher to the refrigerator after pouring a serving. Leaving it at room temperature for extended periods can reduce freshness and shorten shelf life.
Stir Before Serving
The chia seeds naturally settle at the bottom. Give the pitcher a quick stir before pouring to redistribute the seeds and fruit flavors evenly.
Remove Ingredients for Longer Storage
If you plan to keep it for more than 24 hours, remove:
- Lemon slices
- Orange slices
- Mint leaves
These ingredients can become bitter over time. The cucumber, raspberries, and chia seeds can remain longer without affecting the taste as much.
