At the start of this year, I set a simple goal: cut out soft drinks to make dieting easier and free up calories so I could actually eat more.
It worked—but only because I replaced them with something better. These three teas became my go-to. They taste great, feel refreshing, and completely replaced soda for me without feeling like a sacrifice.
If you’re trying to simplify your diet, I’d definitely recommend giving them a try—they made a real difference for me.
Peach Mint Refresh Iced Tea

Ingredients:
- 2 black tea bags
- 500 ml hot water
- 1/2 fresh peach (sliced)
- 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1–2 cups ice
Instructions:
- Heat 500 ml of water until just boiling (around 90–100°C).
- Pour the hot water over the 2 black tea bags in a heatproof container or teapot.
- Let the tea steep for 5–7 minutes. Avoid over-steeping, as it can become bitter.
- Remove the tea bags and gently squeeze them to extract remaining flavor.
- Allow the tea to cool down for about 10–15 minutes at room temperature.
- While it cools, slice half a fresh peach into thin wedges. Lightly press the slices with a spoon to release more juice.
- Add the peach slices and fresh mint leaves to the tea. Slightly bruise the mint (press it gently between your fingers) to enhance aroma.
- Stir in the juice of half a lemon for freshness and balance.
- Place the tea in the refrigerator for at least 30–60 minutes to fully infuse the flavors.
- Fill a glass with ice, pour the chilled tea over it, and include some peach slices and mint for garnish.
Why I love this tea
This is honestly one of those drinks that doesn’t feel “healthy” in a boring way—it feels like something you’d order at a nice café, just lighter and cleaner. I love how the peach gives a soft natural sweetness, while the mint makes everything taste fresh and cooling. When it’s really cold with ice, it just hits differently.
What makes it special to me is that it actually helps without trying too hard. There’s no heavy sugar, no artificial stuff, just simple ingredients that work together. The black tea gives a gentle boost of energy, so I feel more awake and focused, but not jittery. And because it tastes so good, I naturally drink more of it—which means I stay hydrated without even thinking about it.
I also notice that it helps with that “random craving” feeling. Instead of reaching for something sweet, I’ll have a glass of this and it’s usually enough. The mint makes it feel clean and refreshing, and the lemon adds just the right amount of brightness so it never tastes flat.
Lemon Ginger Clean Energy Iced Tea

Ingredients:
- 2 green tea bags
- 500 ml hot water
- 1–2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp freshly grated ginger
- Lemon slices
- 1–2 cups ice
Instructions:
- Heat water to about 80°C (not fully boiling, to protect the green tea’s delicate flavor).
- Pour the hot water over the green tea bags.
- Let the tea steep for 3–5 minutes. Do not exceed this time to avoid bitterness.
- Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool for 10–15 minutes.
- Grate fresh ginger finely and add about 1/2 teaspoon directly into the warm tea. Stir well so the flavor infuses evenly.
- Add 1–2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Adjust depending on how tangy you like it.
- Add a few lemon slices for extra aroma and visual appeal.
- Transfer the tea to the refrigerator and chill for at least 20–30 minutes.
- Before serving, give it a quick stir to redistribute the ginger.
- Fill a glass with ice and pour the tea over it. You can strain it if you prefer a smoother texture, or leave the ginger in for a stronger effect.
Why I love this tea
This one feels different—it’s not just refreshing, it feels clean and energizing from the inside out. I love drinking it when I want something that wakes me up gently but also makes me feel a bit lighter.
The combination of lemon and ginger is what really makes it special. The lemon gives it that sharp, fresh taste that instantly feels revitalizing, while the ginger adds a subtle warmth and depth. It’s not sweet, but it’s so flavorful that you don’t miss sugar at all.
What I personally like most is how it makes me feel afterwards. It’s one of those drinks that doesn’t sit heavy—instead, it almost feels like it resets your system. The green tea gives a calm, steady energy, and the ginger adds a bit of that “kick” that makes you feel more awake and focused.
I also reach for this tea when I have cravings or feel a bit sluggish. Somehow it helps me get back on track without effort. It’s simple, but it feels intentional—like you’re doing something good for your body without overthinking it.
Berry Hibiscus Refresh & Reset Iced Tea

Ingredients:
- 2 hibiscus tea bags
- 500 ml hot water
- 1/2 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1–2 cups ice
Instructions:
- Bring 500 ml of water to a boil.
- Pour the hot water over the hibiscus tea bags in a jug or teapot.
- Let the tea steep for 5–7 minutes until it develops a deep red color.
- Remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool for about 10–15 minutes.
- Wash the berries thoroughly. If using strawberries, cut them into halves or quarters.
- Lightly mash some of the berries with a fork to release their natural juices.
- Add all the berries to the tea along with 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice.
- Stir gently and place the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30–60 minutes so the fruit flavor fully infuses.
- For a stronger taste, let it sit even longer (up to a few hours).
- Fill a glass with ice and pour the tea over it, including some berries for serving.
What makes this tea special to me
This is the one I turn to when I want something that feels a bit more exciting than just “another healthy drink.” The color alone already sets the mood—it looks rich and vibrant, and somehow that already makes it more enjoyable.
The taste is what really wins me over. The hibiscus has that slightly tangy, almost cranberry-like flavor, and when you add the berries, it becomes naturally fruity without being overly sweet. The lime lifts everything and keeps it from feeling too heavy. It’s refreshing, but in a more flavorful, almost juicy way.
I like how it fits those moments when I’d normally want something sugary. Instead of feeling like I’m cutting something out, it actually feels like I’m choosing something better. It satisfies that “I want a treat” feeling, just in a cleaner way.
Another reason I keep coming back to it is that it works perfectly in the evening. Since there’s no caffeine, I can drink it whenever I want, and it still feels like a little break or reward during the day.
